Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during the attack West of BELLENGLISE on the 18th September, 1918. He commanded a lewis gun section, and on one occasion pushed his gun well forward against a strong point. he rushed the position and 30 prisoners were captured. His conduct throughout the whole operation was of the highest order and added greatly to the success of the operation.'
