War service: Egypt, Palestine Taken on strength, 2nd Light Horse Training Regiment, Tel-el-Kebir, 22 April 1916. Taken on strength, 2nd Double Squadron, Serapeum, 1 July 1916; promoted temporary Sergeant, 1 July 1916. Found guilty, 10 August 1916, of (1) being absent from 4.30 pm parade; (2) being absent from 5.00 pm parade; (3) returning to camp drunk, 9 August 1916: reduced to rank of temporary Corporal. Attached to 2nd Light Horse Training Regiment whilst undergoing dental treatment, 12 October 1916. Taken on strength, 4th Australian Camel Regiment, Abbassia, 2 November 1916; appointed Troop Corporal, 2 November 1916. Transferred to 17th Company, Imperial Camel Corps, 7 February 1917; taken on strength, 7 February 1917. Killed in action, Palestine, 4 December 1917 (body not recovered).
