Embarked Fremantle on HMAT 'Ulysees', 1 April 1916; disembarked Alexandria, 25 April 1916; marched into Tel-el-Kebir, 27 April 1916, on strength of 3rd Training Bn.

Admitted 2nd Australian Stationary Hospital, Tel-el-Kebir, 3 May 1916; discharged to duty, 6 May 1916.

Embarked Alexandria on HT 'Huntspill' and proceeded to join the British Expeditonary Force, 7 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, 14 June 1916; taken on strength of 51st Bn from 4th Australian Divisional Base Depot, 21 August 1916.

Killed in action, France, 3 September 1916; reported wounded in action, 3 September 1916; no further report, 12 January 1917; determined, 24 April 1917, as killed in action.
