Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. On 6th October, 1917, when in charge of a G.S. wagon load of stores and material for his Battery at TOKIO (east of YPRES), a very heavy barrage was put down on the only road available. Notwithstanding the heavy and concentrated fire, Driver FEIRCLOUGH - knowing the stores were urgently required- made repeated attempts to reach his Battery. It was not until both his horses were killed under him and he himself blown off the road that this Driver was compelled to relinquish his task. His conduct on this, and other occasions, has set a splendid example to all ranks.'
