Military Medal 'During the fighting at POLYGON WOOD east of YPRES on 20th September 1917, this N.C.O. led his Section admirably; he displayed great personal bravery and determination when attacking enemy Strong Posts and was a splendid example to his men. Single handed he went out and brought in 16 prisoners.'
