'At POZIERES, FRANCE, on 6th. August 1916, Gunner FERRIER displayed coolness and bravery in bringing Lieutenant MORGAN back after the latter had been wounded. Lieutenant MORGAN was F.O.O. for his battery and was wounded whilst endeavouring to reach the forward tenches. Gnr. FERRIER, who was accompanying him as telephonist, picked him up and carried him back through a heavy hostile fire, he himself being slightly wounded in doing so.'
