Military Medal 'During the afternoon of 25th March 1917 after two fighting patrols had gone out to feel the village of NOREUIL, and been driven back, this man volunteered for and went out close up to enemy defences under direct observation and during heavy shell and machine gun fire, and brought in two wounded men, again that night he volunteered for and sent out and brought in Lieutenant KAY, who had been reported killed, but was discovered to be badly wounded.'
