Embarked Alexandria on HMT 'Kinsfauncastle' to join British Expeditionary Force, 18 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, 29 June 1916.

Admitted to hospital 'in the field', 5 November 1916 (influenza); transferred to New Zealand Division Rest Station, 10 November 1916; discharged, 18 November 1916; returned to 5th Divisional Ammunition Column, 21 November 1916.
