War service: Egypt, Gallipoli Embarked Alexandria to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force, Gallipoli, 5 April 1915. Wounded in action, 14 May 1915 (gun shot wound, shoulder), and admitted to Hospital Ship; trasferred to Imtarfe Hospital, Malta, 17 May 1915; to St George's Hospital, Malta, 28 July 1915 (wound: slight); discharged to All Saints' Hospital, 5 August 1915. Found guilty, 22 August 1915, of being absent without leave from Camp, 22 August 1915: awarded 3 days' Field Punishment No 2. Embarked Malta for Alexandria, 31 August 1915; marched into MEF Draft, Heliopolis, 9 September 1915. Rejoined Bn, Lemnos, 17 September 1915. Admitted to 3rd Auxiliary Hospital, Heliopolis from HS 'Glenart Castle', 11 December 1915 (enteritis); transferred to 2nd Auxiliary hospital, 1 February1916.
