'For devotion to duty during the operations East of BULLECOURT on April 11th 1917. He was in charge of a telephone at advanced Battalion Headquarters, the shelling was intense at this point and there was no cover yet he remained at his post and did his work bravely and well. he is worthy of special recognition.'
