'Sergeant Cook. Has at all times worked untiringly in looking after the comfort of the men. Showed special devotion to duty in arranging for the despatch of meals to men in the front line frequently accompanying the carrying parties under heavy fire until he was wounded. I cannot speak too highly enough of this N.C.O.'s work on all occasions.'
