Military Medal

'On 12th October 1917, East of YPRES, he displayed conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty in action. Though wounded himself, this N.C.O. repeatedly went forward under heavy shell fire searching for wounded and guiding stretcher bearers after he had located the casualty. Owing to the nature of the ground, it was essential that wounded men in front of our line should be brought in promptly, otherwise the losses from exposure would have been very great. Corporal GUYNETT'S example was an inspiration to others.'
