Found guilty at Rollestone, 23 July 1916, of being absent without leave, 6.00 am, 20 July, until apprehended in 3rd Divisional Train Lines, 10.00 pm, 16 August 1916: awarded 28 days' detention; forfeited total of 56 days' pay. Proceeded overseas to France, 29 September 1916; marched into 2nd Divisional Base Depot, Etaples, 2 October 1916; moved into the field, 22 November 1916; taken on strength of 26th Bn, 25 November 1916.

Found guilty in the field, 8 January 1917, of being absent without leave, 9.00 am, 20 December, to 29 December 1916: awarded 28 days' Field Punishment No 2; forfeited total of 38 days' pay.
