Military Medal 'At VILLE-SUR-ANCRE near ALBERT this man displayed great coolness during operation of 19th May, 1918. He was one of the first to enter the village and with the small mopping-up party he dealt with opposition in a most resolute manner and captured many prisoners. Whilst under fire he assisted Corporal Flinn to a point of safety and was severely wounded in carrying out same. His conspicuous daring and dash set a splendid example to his comrades.'
