Meritorious Service Medal 'As a Platoon Sergeant from 6th June 1916 and as Tem. Company Sergeant-Major from 17th October 1918 this N.C.O. has done continuous good service. His reliability, disregard for personal danger and tact have made him noticeable and have contributed to make him one of the best N.C.O's obtainable. He has always carried out his duties in a cheerful manner and has earned the respect of his Company. He has always tackled any problems, no matter how difficult in such a way that he has invariably succeeded in attaining his object. His record for continuous good work I consider unsurpassed.'
