'On the night of 1/2nd October 1917, Sergeant C.S. JAMIESON was in charge of a PARTY employed in unloading and stacking ammunition at the Battery position East of WESTHOEK. This N.C.O. supervised and completed the unloading and stacking of the ammunition whilst the Battery position and vicinity were being heavily shelled by enemy 5.9" and 8" guns. At this time the ammunition at the battery was short and it was vital that the supply should be maintained. Sergeant JAMIESON's example of courage and devotion to duty deserves special recognition.'
