War service: England Embarked Sydney, 5 June 1918; disembarked Liverpool, England, 11 August 1918. Marched in to 9th Training Bn, Fovant, 12 August 1918, and allotted to Reinforcements, 43rd Bn. Found guilty, 20 September 1918, of quitting the ranks without permission, 19 September 1918: awarded 5 days' Field Punishment No 2, and forfeited 5 days' pay. Admitted to Salisbury Isolation Hospital, 10 October 1918 (diptheria); discharged to No 4 Command Depot, 15 October 1918; admitted to Military Hospital, Fovant, 16 October 1918 (broncho-pneumonia: severely ill); discharged and reported to 9th Training Bn, 7 November 1918. Admitted to 1st Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Harefield, 28 December 1918 (bronchitis); discharged to Administrative Headquarters, 4 January 1919, and marched in to No 1 Command Depot, Sutton Veny, 6 January 1919.
