Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry and good leadership during an advance. When an enemy strong point offered a determined resistance, he took charge of his company, the company commander having been killed, and led them with great determination against the strong point, whic he captured, with a large number of prisoners. He then led his men forward to the final objective. He set a splendid example of courage and initiative.'
