War service: Egypt, Western Front Embarked Alexandria, 6 June 1916; disembarked Plymouth, England, 16 June 1916, and marched into 8th Training Bn. Proceeded overseas to France, 5 September 1916; marched in to 5th Australian Division Base Depot, 6 September 1916; taken on strength, 29th Bn, 22 September 1916. Admitted to 15th Australian Field Ambulance, 10 February 1917 (septic sores); discharged to duty, 19 February 1917. On leave, 2 September 1917; rejoined unit from leave, 16 September 1917. On leave in France, 20 September 1918; rejoined unit from leave, 3 October 1918. Transferred to 32nd Bn, 12 October 1918. Proceeded on English leave, 29 October 1918; rejoined unit from leave, 18 November 1918. Embarked for England for Non Military Employment, 27 March 1919. Granted leave with pay only from 1 April-1 July 1919; reason: surgical bootmaker, attending W. Aldons, 117 Beulah Road, Thornton Heath, Croydon, Surrey.
