Military Medal 'During operations on 8th and 9th August 1918 this N.C.O.'s work throughout was of the highest standard. He was in charge of a platoon throughout the day of the eight handling it with skill and determination. On morning of 9th instant forward of HARBONNIERES when the advance was held up by strong opposition this N.C.O. worked his platoon along the flank by the railway line for a distance of 300 yards under heavy machine gun fire. With the assistance of a tank and covering fire he cleared the situation on the right with his platoon forcing the enemy to surrender, killing many and enabling the advance to continue.'
