Military Medal 'On 15th June, 1918, near VILLERS BRETONNEUX, the Detached Section of the 30th Battery, where T/Sergeant MARKER was occupied, was heavily shelled, and the camouflage of one gun was set alight, causing some of the ammunition to explode. This N.C.O., without a moment's hesitation, and at great personal risk, succeeded in pulling away the burning camouflage and extinguishing the fire, although the shelling continued. He showed a complete disregard for his personal safety, and set a fine example of devotion to duty to all with him, and undoubtedly saved large quantities of ammunition and the gun itself.'
