'Was a runner on Battalion Headquarters near MOUQUET FARM from 30th August, 1916 to 2nd September, 1916. Time after time he volunteered for duty, and although very fatigued on account of the very bad condition of the trenches he stuck to his work cheerfully and willingly.'
