Military Medal 'On 12th October 1917, East of YPRES, he displayed conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty in action. This N.C.O. was in charge of a Signalling Station in a dangerous part of the Area. The conditions were very difficult but he managed to maintain communication, personally supervising the maintenance of the Line. His cheerfulness, energy, and courage were of great assistance to the rest of the Signalling personnel.'
