Distinguished Conduct Medal

'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. An ammunition dump and gun camouflage were set on fire by hostile shell fire. With the assistance of another officer he at once rushed to the gun and removed the burning camouflage, and then, although shells were bursting close by, succeeded in putting out the fire in the ammunition dump.'
