Military Medal Source: 'Commonwealth Gazette' Date: Bar to Military Medal 'On the 8th August, 1918, during the attack east of HAMEL, Private McGREGOR with great gallantry rushed a nest of four enemy machine guns, killed four of the gunners and captured the guns and remaining members of the garrison. While the advance was in progress he also greatly assisted in keeping his platoon in touch with neighbouring platoons. Throughout the operation he displayed conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty.'
