Embarked Melbourne, 2 October 1916; disembarked Plymouth, england, 16 november 1916, and marched in to 16th Training Bn, Hurdcott.

Proceeded overseas to France, 10 February 1917; taken on strength, 59th Bn, in the field, 21 February 1917.

Admitted to 14th Field Ambulance, 6 April 1917, and transferred to Divisional Rest Station (furculosis); to 47th Casualty Clearing Station, 13 April 1917; discharged to duty, and rejoined Bn, 23 April 1917.

On Command, 1st Anzac Corps Infantry School, 17 June 1917; rejoined Bn, 21 July 1917.

Appointed Lieutenant, 15 July 1917.

Wounded in action, 26 September 1917 (gun shot wound, shoulder and chest), and admitted to 6th Australian Field Ambulance, and transferred to 3rd Canadian Casualty Clearing Station.

Died of wounds, 1.15 am, 28 September 1917.
