Military Medal

'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during operations East of VILLE-sur-ANCRE, South West of ALBERT on the night of 3rd/4th July 1918. Private MEADOWS did splendid work as a scout. With another man he captured a machine gun post, killing four of the enemy. When the objective was taken he covered the Lewis gun patrol sent forward whilst the objective was being consolidated. He set a fine example of coolness and courage to his comrades.'
