Military Medal 'Near WARNETON, during a raid on the enemy on night of 30th November/1st December, 1917, this man displayed conspicuous bravery. With his section he rushed a large party of the enemy with great determination and inflicted heavy casualties with bomb and bayonet. He personally accounted for at least nine of the enemy. He was a splendid example of coolness and courage. Strength of raiding party - 4 Officers and 82 other Ranks.'
