Embarked Alexandria to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force, Gallipoli, 2 March 1915.

Wounded in action, 25-29 April 1915 (gun shot wound, hand and foot: fractured; severe), and admitted to 15th General Hospital, Alexandria, 30 April 1915, and tansferred to England for medical treatment (details not recorded). Disembarked Alexandria from Devonport, England, 5 March 1916; rejoined 10th Bn, 10 March 1916.

Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 27 March 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 3 April 1916.

Admitted to 7th General Hospital, St Omer, 28 April 1916 (scarlet fever); transferred to 14th Stationary Hospital, Rouen, 29 April 1916; to England, 8 June 1916 (debility), and admitted to 1st Auxiliary Hospital, Harefield, 17 June 1916; transferred to 2nd Auxiliary Hospital, Southall, 8 December 1917; discharged to Anzac Provost Corps, Warwick Square, London, 15 December 1917.
