Military Medal 'During the period from 25th February 1918 to 16th September 1918 this N.C.O. has performed many gallant services. He has co-operated with Infantry patrols at night on many occasions displaying initiative and resource of a high order. At Morlancourt on July 29th he kept his gun in action until all his ammunition was exhausted in spite of a heavy enemy barrage. His courage and coolness have been an inspiration to his men on many occasions.'
