Taken on strength, 23rd Bn, Gallipoli, 12 October 1915.

Wounded in action, 12 December 1915 (gun shot wound, left shoulder); admitted to 6th Field Ambulance, 13 December 1915. Transferred by HS 'Oxfordshire' to Alexandria, and admitted to 21st General Hospital, 15 December 1915. Transferred to No. 2 Australian General Hospital, 20 December 1915. Transferred to No. 3 Auxiliary Hospital, Heliopolis, 20 December 1915.

Discharged to duty, Overseas Base, Heliopolis, 26 January 1916. Rejoined unit in the Canal Zone, 21 February 1916.

Admitted to 7th Field Ambulance, 28 February 1916 (old bullet wound); transferred to 2nd Australian Casualty Clearing Station, 29 February 1916. Transferred to 1st Australian Stationary Hospital, 2 March 1916; to Base Hospital, 5 March 1916.

Admitted to 1st Australian General Hospital, Heliopolis, 6 March 1916 (dangerously ill: bullet wound and pneumonia). Died, 9.50 pm, 9 March 1916.
