'During the German advance in Northern Sector in March/April last this W.O. was of the greatest assistance to the C.O., in the very complicated and strenuous work of removing the Corps Reinforcement Camp his duties frequently took him into heavily shelled areas. In the three subsequent moves of these Headquarters the advanced parties have been in his charge and the work has always been well done. In addition to consistent excellent work as R.S.M., he has shown much initiative, energy and enthusiasm in detecting and arresting illegal absentees, often remaining out late at night to attain his object.'
