Military Medal

'For meritorious service and devotion to duty. This N.C.O. has on many occasions been called on to take rations and S.A.A. to the forward areas under heavy shell fire and has often been the means of safely getting the limbers to their destination. Early in March last when the Battalion transport lines near WULVERGHEM were heavily shelled this N.C.O. showed great coolness under very trying conditions. Under his orders the whole of the transport personnel were removed to a place of safety. During the operations from VILLERS BRETONNEUX to PERONNE from 8th August to 5th September 1918 he showed untiring devotion to duty.'
