Military Medal 'Near WARNETON, during a raid on the enemy on night 30th November/1st December, this man showed conspicuous gallantry and dash. he was Scout to left party and before Zero went out to locate Gaps in enemy wire. he was continuously fired on while in enemy wire and was unable to get back to guide the party before barrage opened but made his way back through barrage and brought his party to point of entry. He then organised collection of wounded, his work throughout being marked by great courage and resourcefulness. Strength of Raiding party - 4 Officers and 82 other Ranks.'
