Military Medal 'At Glencorse Wood during the period 25th to 26th September Private Waycott showed great coolness and courage. On the night of the 25th and morning of 26th he continually attended to wounded, and dug out buried men under extremely heavy Artillery fire and later during the day of 26th when his company were ordered forward, he acted as runner and passed continuously between the front line and Battalion Headquarters through the enemys barrage and thus enabled Headquarters to keep in touch with the situation. Later in the evening of the 26th Private Waycott was wounded but delivered his message and reported back and would not retire from duty until ordered to do so.'
