Distinguished Conduct Medal 'For great gallantry and devotion to duty during the attack on the Hindenburg outpost line opposite Bellenglise on 18 September, 1918. He was in charge of a Lewis gun team, and did good work. On two occasions he attacked single handed, outposts of the enemy, capturing three men from one and four from the other.'
