Taken on strength, 5th Bn, Tel el Kebir, 10 January 1916.

Found guilty, 4 February 1916, of (1) refusing to obey the order of an NCO; (2) using obscene language to an NCO: awarded 28 days' Field Punishment No 2.

Transferred to and taken on strength of 57th Bn, 17 February 1916.

Found guilty, 29 February 1916, of conduct to the prejudiuce of good order and Military discipline in that he used obscene language to L/Cpl Ross of 'B' Company in that he when ordered by the aforesaid to number off correctly replied by saing "Obscene languages" or words to that effect: awarded 28 days' Field Punishment No 2.

Rejoined Bn at Ferry Post from detention, 6 April 1916.

Transferred to 59th Bn, 5 April 1916.

Found guilty, Canal Zone, 18 April 1916, of 'Being a soldier on Active Service he was guilty of an act to the prejudice of good Order and military discipline in that he at Canal Zone on 15/4/16 having been given permission to absent himself from the line of march did not report back thereto within a reasonable time': awarded '10 hours' Pack Drill to be carried on days when the Battalion is not on a route march.'

Found guilty, Duntroon Plateau, 12 May 19161, of using obscene language to an NCO: awarded 10 days' Field Punishment No 2.

Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 18 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 29 June 1916.

Posted missing, 19 July 1916.

Court of Enquiry, held in the field, 29 August 1917, pronounced fate as 'Killed in Action, 19 July 1916'.
