Found guilty, 28 September 1916, of (1) being absent without leave from midnight, 24 September 1916, until 2 pm, 26 September 1916: awarded reverted to rank of Bombardier; forfeited 2 days' pay.

Proceeding overseas to France via Southampton, 31 December 1916; transferred from 23rd Field Artillery Brigade and taken on strengths of 7th Artillery Brigade, France, 6 January 1917; to be temporary Corporal, 30 June 1917; to be Corporal, 30 September 1917; to be Temporary Sergeant on evacuation of wounded, 30 September 1917; reverts to the rank of Corporal, 6 December 1917; to be Sergeant, 27 January 1918; on leave to England, 23 February 1918; rejoined unit from leave, 13 March 1918; detached to 4th Army School, 23 March 1918; returned from school, 31 March 1918; detached to R.B.A.A, 27 November 1918; disembarked, Folkestone, England, to report to R.B.A.A, 28 November 1918.
