Military Medal 'Near CLERY-sur-SOMME, during the operations from 28th to 31st August, 1918, Private AMIET played a plucky and important part of scout and runner. His reconnaissances were very valuable and he penetrated with his patrol to distant objectives gaining valuable information and capturing prisoners and machine guns. As runner he passed constantly through enemy shelling and although very tired he continued to work in his dual capacity with cheerfulness and courage.'
