Admitted to No 1 Australian Dermatological Hospital, Bulford, 19 October 1916 (venereal disease); discharged, 18 January 1917: total period of treatment for venereal disease: 92 days.

Proceeded overseas to France, 28 March 1917; marched into 3rd Australian Divisional Base Depot, Etaples, 29 March 1917.

Proceeded to unit, 31 March 1917; taken on strength of 43rd Bn, 1 April 1917.

Detached to Trench Mortar School, 30 September 1917; rejoined unit, 20 October 1917.

Wounded in action, 20 October 1917; admitted to No 11 Australian Field Ambulance, 20 October 1917 (gunshot wound, thigh); transferred to No 17 Casualty Clearing Station, 20 October 1917; to No 20 Ambulance Train, 22 October 1917; to No 83 General Hospital, Boulogne, 22 October 1917; to No 1 Convalescent Depot, Boulogne, 28 October 1917; discharged, 2 November 1917; marched into 3rd Australian Divisional Base Depot, Rouelles, 6 November 1917.
