'On 29th September, 1918, during operations South of BONY, our movements were greatly retarded by enemy machine gun fire. Regardless of enemy snipers, bombers and machine gun fire Private BYLEVELD pushed ahead, often in exposed positions, to gain greater fire effect, and succeeded in killing a number of the enemy and materially assisted a small party in clearing about 200 yards of trench. His action saved us many casualties and enabled the Company to advance towards the objective.'
