SYMONDS, B Company, 60th Bn (patient, 3rd London General Hospital, Wandsworth, England), 5 January 1917: 'On the morning of July 19th (dark) in the front line at Fromelles, before we went over Conley and five others were killed by a shell. I saw this happen.'
