Military Medal 'For gallantry and devotion to duty whilst attending the woundedon the days of Sept. 29th and 30th at Bony-Le Catelet. He showed great courage and a fine example whilst carrying out his arduous duties under heavy machine gun and shell fire. This N.C.O. has consistently done very fine work in the Battalion, and is strongly recommended. He did fine work in helping to evacuate the rush of American wounded through the Battalion Aid Post on the days mentioned above.'
