Proceeded to unit, 28 May 1917, and taken on strength of 57th Bn, in the field, the same day. Wounded in action, 25 September 1917; admitted to No 2 Casualty Clearing Station, 26 September 1917, and transferred to No 2 Ambulance Train, the same day (shrapnel wound, right cheek); to No 12 General Hospital, Rouen, 27 September 1917; to England, 23 October 1917; to Reading War Hospital, 24 October 1917; to No 3 Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Dartford, 23 November 1917; discharged to furlough, 24 November 1917; marched into No 1 Command Depot, Sutton Veny, 9 December 1917.
