Military Medal 'On 4th October, 1917, East of YPRES, for conspicuous bravery in action. This N.C.O. showed great daring and resource as a Scout. Several times he brought in most valuable information especially regarding concentration of the enemy for counter attack. It was entirely due to him that artillery were informed and broke up the attack before it developed.'
