Wounded in action, 9 March 1917 (gun shot wound, right leg), and admitted to 6th Australian Field Ambulance (shrapnel wound face; compound fracture, right leg), and transferred to 3rd Australian Casualty Clearing Station; to Ambulance Train, 11 March 1917, and admitted to 11th Stationary Hospital, Rouen; transfererd to England, 19 March 1917, and admitted to Southwark Military Hospital, 20 March 1917 (leg wound: severe); transferred to Dulwich Military Hospital, 28 March 1917; to 1st Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Harefield, 14 June 1917; discharged to No 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 26 June 1917.
